    Though a little pricey for a Blu-ray, this movie more than delivers on its promises. The edition's extras are real cool, too (for some reason, I never imagined Geretta Geretta of "Demons" fame was from Portland, OR). I believe a previous comment points out that this is different from the movies which "inspired" it. I do concur. What this movie rips-off are basically the crucial moments and the art direction from Aliens (namely, the steamy, bluish, lightning-ridden look), not really the premise. They do steal elements from Terminator, but is not the "replicant" as they loudly and clearly call the AI element in this movie (an idea which comes from Blade Runner: credit where credit is due). Honestly, the only one borrowed element that annoys me is the proximity sensors, on which much time is wasted.

    Most people know what they're getting into when they watch a Bruno Mattei/Claudio Fragasso flick, let alone purchase such an expensive copy. They were a "for hire only" act and did what they were asked to with as little as they could ask for and in Mattei's case, that kept him going until the very end not having to switch careers. The man died with his boots right on! Bad reviews of the movie itself in most cases are pointless... And yes, this movie does pack the ultimate "WTF" ending and from where I stand... that's no shortcoming, but the whole contrary! You can say that's where they really "rip-off" Terminator, not the robot element, which you find all over the Alien franchise already anyways... but it really is something that must be seen to be believed... It's just not that simple... the ultimate WTF ending statement was not just a sales pitcher... it does happen!!!

    From the American perspective, everything beyond its borders is a "rip-off" of something made here. Claudio Fragasso and wife Rosella are some of the most creative storytellers in world cinema... I mean, if you take a closer look, Virus is closer to World War Z than it is to Dawn of the Dead, just like Robowar is more to, say, Universal Soldier or even Source Code than Predator or Robocop... all made afterwards. Bruno Mattei, more than a hack, knew how to stand his own ground where there was no possible competition and somehow never failed to materialize the couple's vision, getting their feet back on the ground in the process... and the Paolocci brothers, no matter what Fragasso may say, really came up with some outlandish-looking, original creations; as rooted in Lovecraft's vision as H.R. Geiger's, in a real small fraction of the time and money... as "fishy" in whatever sense they may strike some...

    This is the WRONG movie for those looking for a cheesy Aliens kitsch. If you wanna see a truly pitiful, wrong-all-over piece for that matter, X-tro 2 is your best bet!!!

    I was a bit surprised by the negative reviews here and felt compelled to throw in my two cents. I found Bruno Mattei’s infamous Aliens and Terminator mashup thoroughly enjoyable and was grinning ear-to-ear throughout the entire runtime.

    This is a perfect midnight movie and I for one am thankful that Severin Films put so much care into giving such a cinematic obscurity a proper release. Here is hoping they can one day do the same for Mattei’s Predator and Robocop mashup, Robowar.

    A great remaster of a hard to find movie! You have to be the type to enjoy these kinds of movies, since the acting and plot lines have allot to be desired! The special features were good! I enjoy the interviews with the Italian Actors/Directors who are always brutally honest!!!
